On the heels of a resounding victory in Tuesday nights Primary election, Congressman Henry Waxman today endorsed State Senator Ted Lieu to succeed him in Congressional District 33.
Congressman Waxman said in his endorsement of Lieu:
“Ted Lieu is my choice to represent us in Congress. Ted is the son of hard-working immigrants and has served with distinction in our armed forces and in public office; his life story and experience have earned him my strong admiration. I endorse Ted Lieu because he will always work tirelessly to strengthen the middle class, make higher education more affordable, help workers save for retirement, and protect our privacy from intrusive NSA surveillance."
State Senator Ted Lieu is advancing to the November General Election after placing in the top-two in Tuesday's Primary. He will be facing Republican Elan Carr in November.
State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.
