Sacramento - The Ted Lieu for Attorney General Campaign is proud to announce an endorsement from the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters represents over 65,000 union carpenters in five states.

“We are proud to endorse Assemblyman Ted Lieu for California Attorney General,” said Mike McCarron, Executive Secretary Treasurer of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. “Ted Lieu’s commitment to continue the Attorney General’s office’s fight for the rights of working men and women, combined with his record of service to our country as a seasoned military prosecutor in the United States Air Force make us confident in his qualifications for the vital law enforcement role as California Attorney General.”

The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters joins a growing coalition of labor organizations and state leaders, including the California School Employees Association; AFSCME Local 1117; Communications Workers of America, Local 9000; Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement; Orange County Professional Firefightes Association; and State Controller John Chiang.

Lieu has led California against Wall Street's excess and is the author of the most comprehensive mortgage reform law in the country to address the mortgage and foreclosure crisis, the California Subprime Reform Act. He believes that government's first priority is to protect its citizens, and to treat all citizens equally regardless of race or gender. Dedicated to his country, Lieu served over four years on active duty and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves as a military prosecutor and member of the JAG Corps.
