700,000-Strong SEIU-California Endorses Ted Lieu for Attorney General
SACRAMENTO – The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) California has endorsed Ted Lieu for Attorney General.
“Earning the support of so many hardworking Californians who do the hard jobs no one should take for granted is an honor,” said Lieu. “I am a dedicated champion and supporter of SEIU and working people. I look forward to carrying on their causes as California’s next Attorney General.”
From http://www.seiuca.org/: SEIU California is a coalition of over 700,000 janitors, social workers, security officers, home care workers, school and university employees, healthcare workers, and city, county and state employees represented by SEIU local unions throughout California. We come together to build a better California by fighting to pass policies and elect candidates that benefit working families and advance the issues we care about: affordable healthcare, good wages, retirement security for all, a healthy environment, good schools and universities, and stronger communities. We believe that by working together we can build a California where working families can thrive again.
Lieu has led California against Wall Street's excess and is the author of the most comprehensive mortgage reform law in the country to address the mortgage and foreclosure crisis, the California Subprime Reform Act. He believes that government's first priority is to protect its citizens, and to treat all citizens equally regardless of race or gender. Dedicated to his country, Lieu served over four years on active duty and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves as a military prosecutor and member of the JAG Corps.
