California Police Chiefs’ Association Endorses Ted Lieu for Attorney General

SACRAMENTO – The highly respected California Police Chiefs’ Association has endorsed Ted Lieu to be California’s next Attorney General.

“Ted Lieu has earned the endorsement of the California Police Chiefs’ Association for Attorney General because of his thoughtful and strong support of public safety issues in California,” said Chief Susan Manheimer, President of the California Police Chiefs' Association.

The California Police Chiefs’ Association was established in 1966. It is a nationally respected and recognized advocacy organization for police chiefs around California. For more information, visit:www.californiapolicechiefs.org.

“I am humble and honored to earn the endorsement of the California Police Chiefs’ Association,” said Lieu. “To have an organization of women and men like the Police Chiefs endorse my candidacy is I believe a testament to my views on smart-but-tough public safety.”

Lieu has led California against Wall Street’s excess and is the author of the most comprehensive mortgage reform law in the country to address the mortgage and foreclosure crisis, the California Subprime Reform Act. He believes that government’s first priority is to protect its citizens, and to treat all citizens equally regardless of race or gender. Dedicated to his country, Lieu served over four years on active duty and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves as a military prosecutor and member of the JAG Corps.
