California School Employees Association Supports Ted Lieu for Attorney General
Sacramento- The Ted Lieu for Attorney General 2010 campaign is honored to announce an endorsement from the California School Employees Association, the largest classified school employees union in the United States. CSEA represents over 230,000 dedicated, extraordinary school support staff throughout California.
“CSEA enthusiastically endorses Ted Lieu for Attorney General because of his commitment to fairness for the working people of California,” said Allan Clark, President of the California School Employees Association. “The Office of Attorney General is one of the most critical posts in state government – Ted brings the know-how, energy and guts to do the job right.”
CSEA joins a growing coalition of educators and other state leaders who support Ted, including the California Federation of Teachers, State Controller John Chiang and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.
Assemblymember Lieu has led California against Wall Street’s excess and is the author of the most comprehensive mortgage reform law in the country to stem the tide of foreclosures, the California Subprime Reform Act. Assemblymember Lieu believes that government’s first priority is to protect its citizens, and to treat all citizens equally regardless of race or gender.
Now in his third term in the Assembly, Lieu has ascended to a key leadership post as Chair of the Assembly Rules Committee. He is also the immediate past Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. Dedicated to his country, Assemblymember Lieu holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves and served on active duty for four years as a member of the JAG Corps as a military prosecutor.
