Riverside Police Officers Association and Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge Support Ted Lieu for Attorney General

Largest City in Inland Empire Backs Ted Lieu

(Riverside, CA) - The Ted Lieu for Attorney General campaign is proud to announce endorsements from the Riverside Police Officers Association and Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge. They join a growing list of supporters such as Riverside Sheriff's Association, Riverside County Supervisor Tom Mullen (Ret.), Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, the Long Beach Police Officers Association, the Torrance Police Officers Association, the El Segundo Police Officers Association and the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association.

"After conducting interviews and doing research, we believe Ted Lieu is the best candidate to protect public safety and serve as California's next Attorney General," said Kevin Townsend, Riverside POA Political Action Committee Chair. "Ted Lieu is the best candidate for Attorney General."

The Riverside Police Officers Association represents police officers who patrol the largest city in the Inland Empire and one of California's largest cities. "Ted Lieu is a JAG prosecutor in the Air Force, has experience in civil law, and his wife is a former Deputy Attorney General," Townsend said. "He has the experience to do the job, expressed a plan for his term as Attorney General and demonstrated his support for public safety."

"Ted Lieu has consistently stood up to powerful interests and protected public safety, homeowners, consumers and communities," said Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge. "Ted Lieu is the state leader in fighting to reform predatory practices in the mortgage industry and reduce home foreclosures. I have worked with him on the foreclosure issue, including a joint town hall to help homeowners in the Inland Empire avoid foreclosure. He deeply cares about the Inland Empire, served at March Air Reserve base and is the most qualified candidate for Attorney General. I am honored to endorse Ted Lieu for Attorney General."

Assemblymember Lieu has authored numerous important public safety bills, including four public safety bills signed into law this year, the most of any legislator. He has also led California against Wall Street's excesses and is the author of the most comprehensive law in the country to stem the tide of foreclosures, the California Foreclosure Prevention Act. Assemblymember Lieu believes that government's first priority is to protect its citizens.

Lieu has ascended to a key leadership post as Chair of the Assembly Rules Committee. He also served on active duty for over four years and is currently a Major in the Reserves. His combined active and reserve duty is over 15 years. Lieu's grandfather was a police officer for over 30 years.
