Ted Lieu for Attorney General Receives First Major Public Safety Endorsement of the Campaign

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca Endorses Ted Lieu

(LOS ANGELES) - The Ted Lieu for Attorney General Campaign today announced the first major public safety endorsement of the race. Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, the Sheriff of the most populous county in the state, has endorsed Ted Lieu for Attorney General.

"I have known Ted Lieu for many years and he has always been a fighter for public safety," said Sheriff Baca. "Ted Lieu is a leader in protecting Californians and has what it takes to be California's next Attorney General. I am proud to endorse Ted Lieu.”

Sheriff Baca joins a growing list of California leaders, including Assemblymembers Paul Fong, Isadore Hall, Mary Hayashi, Bonnie Lowenthal and Curren Price.

“Ted has repeatedly taken on powerful interests to protect the public from harm,” said Sheriff Baca. “As California's next Attorney General, Ted will fight for all Californians and protect the most vulnerable.”

Assemblymember Ted Lieu has led California against Wall Street's excesses and is the author of the most comprehensive law in the country to stem the tide of foreclosures, the California Foreclosure Prevention Act. Assemblymember Lieu believes that the government's first priority is to protect its citizens.

Now in his final term in the Assembly, Ted Lieu has ascended to a key leadership post as Chair of the powerful Assembly Rules Committee. Dedicated to his country, Assemblymember Lieu holds the rank of Major in the United State Air Force Reserves and served on active duty for four years as a member of the JAG Corps as a military prosecutor.
